Job Club for Deaf people

The Building Better Opportunities programme is funded by Big Lottery and the European Social Fund (ESF) who are co-investing in local projects tackling the root of wordlessness, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth.

Community Matters is one of the four projects within this programme across the Black Country and will help people across Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Sandwell move into or closer to employment by developing their skills and confidence.

Community Matters is managed by the Heart of England Community Foundation in partnership with 22 local organisations across the Black Country.

1940s High Tea Christmas Fayre – 10th December 2016

Wolverhampton BSL Craft will have an event, 1940 High Tea Christmas Fayre, on Saturday 10th December from 11.30am to 4.30pm.

 

There will be Christmas Stall to buy craft things from our craft group and there are all homemade sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee and other drinks.

Father Christmas will give small gifts for children so children are welcome!

Tickets: adult £5 / children £2. (Deadline on November 19th)

 

Multi Sport Day – Thursday 27th October 2016

BID’s Multi Sports Day event that is taking place on Thursday 27th October 2016 at the Doug Ellis Sports Centre in Perry Barr from 1pm – 4pm.

The aim of the day is to bring together Families for a fun day for children age 3 -12 who are Deaf.  The children are very welcome to bring their hearing siblings and their parents too.

There will also be a big celebration to mark the end of this project which has been funded by the Post Code Lottery.

Finders Keepers – 26th October 2016

Finders Keepers- two twits, one junkyard and an unexpected surprise! Directed by Caroline Parker.

The performance show takes place at Arena Theatre today at 3pm and 6pm.

Hot Coals Theatre are back with a fun filled, highly visual, touching, piece inspired by the story of Moses. Using music, puppetry and comic happenings with no dialogue, accessible to both Deaf and hearing audiences in a shared experience.

This show has been created to be inclusive to both Deaf and hearing audiences in a shared experience. There is no English or BSL on stage, the story is shared through, physical comedy, puppetry, clowning and highly visual theatre.

Two endearing and quirky characters living in a scrapyard on the fringes of society have their lives turned upside down!

Stafford Deaf Coffee Morning for BSL users

Stafford Deaf Coffee Morning for BSL users and deafblind BSL users (with their communicator guide) once a month, from 9.30am to 12pm every Friday.

The coffee morning will be at Side hall, Rising Brook Baptist Church, Burton Square, Rising Brook, Stafford. ST17 9LT

Cost: £4 at the door or pay a yearly membership fee, which comes with free drinks.
